Steampunk February Challenge - Time Machine

Over at SanDee and Amelie's blog here the challenge this month is "time machine". So many possibilities running through my mind from Dr Who's Tardis, to Jules Verne, to the many Sci Fi books and movies that have worked on my imagination. What to do? What to do? Well, here is where I ended up....

Time machines take us through traveling through time, so I began in the "past" with Stonehenge where ancient people thousands of years ago left their mark of knowledge of the heavens in stone.

Next stop, the "present", but since this is steampunk, the time would be during Victorian times, so the chemist in his lab symbolizes the experimentation that would change the future.

Meld the past and present into the future, and our early explorer heads out into space in a rocket.

It all began in my art journal with a page I'd prepped with Dylusians sprays...

Added stamped images from Tim Holtz Chemist and Time Traveler sets, Stonehenge stamp by Rubber Stamps of America, and Off the Grid by Stampin up. Made my own little rocket and stained it with pewter Distress Stain, a few written words, details, and off we go traveling through time!

  1. I love that intense colours, Maura, that indicate "adventure" and "dangers" (especially when experimenting with time in the "lab") and "risks" but also "great discoveries" ahead!

A beautiful and rich page with a lot of love, thought and labour put into! Wonderful!

Thank you so much for sharing it with us at SASPC!
